‘Bog Day Out’ to An Creagan
6th Jun 2026
To end a busy week, P6/7 enjoyed a very informative visit to An Creagan.
Coinciding with our topic of ‘Going Green’, our knowledgeable guide Aidan shared with us the importance of our peatlands in Northern Ireland, especially telling us about the benefits of sphagnum moss in reducing carbon dioxide.
When out on the bog we then investigated the range of native species of plants in this area, along with finding some invertebrates too!
There are certainly lots of keen environmentalists and biologists amongst P6/7!
